Rules and Guidelines

1. Membership and Access

  • The blog is exclusively for members of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP).
  • Members must provide their IAP membership details for verification during registration.
  • Unauthorized access or sharing of login credentials is strictly prohibited.

2. Content Guidelines

  • Posts should be related to pediatric case reports, medical queries, or unusual disease occurrences relevant to child healthcare.
  • All contributions should be evidence-based, professionally written, and adhere to scientific accuracy.
  • Promotional content, advertisements, or non-academic materials are not allowed.

3. Patient Identity and Privacy

  • All posts must strictly comply with patient confidentiality laws as per The Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette, and Ethics) Regulations, 2002 and GDPR, if applicable.
  • No identifiable patient information (name, photo, hospital ID, location, or any other personal details) should be shared.
  • Use generic descriptions (e.g., “a 5-year-old male child”) and obtain explicit informed consent from guardians if sharing case studies, even in anonymized form.
  • Avoid uploading images like X-rays or photographs unless critical to the case and properly anonymized.

4. Responsibility and Liability

  • Contributors are solely responsible for the accuracy, quality, and integrity of their posts.
  • The blog administrators reserve the right to moderate, edit, or delete content that violates these guidelines or spreads misinformation.
  • All medical discussions and advice are for academic purposes only and must not substitute for direct patient care or consultation.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Maintain a respectful tone in discussions. Disparaging remarks, unprofessional language, or personal attacks are strictly forbidden.
  • Use the comment section constructively for academic discourse, not for criticism or ridicule.
